NerdWallet YouTube Content
As NerdWallet’s lead content designer, I collaborated with marketing, editing, and production teams to scale video capabilities for YouTube and social. I crafted a comprehensive design system for freelance video editors, owning the visual design language behind a robust toolkit of premade templates, animations, and interchangeable elements, that enabled each editor to produce 2-3 custom, brand-forward videos every week.
Evergreen Videos
A dynamic, motion-driven collage toolkit built for efficiency and endless remixing.
I partnered closely with our in-house editor to craft a style and system that was easy to template and even easier to customize. A kit of over one hundred paper textures and hand drawn accents, and ever-growing library of treated photography, were designed to populate dozens of MoGRTs – a process we shared on Medium. This system reduced the need for design oversight, giving freelance editors more autonomy to create custom-looking frames and animations with efficiency.
Serialized Content
Building trust through honest, sometimes awkward money conversations with our nerdy experts.
As we grew an audience on YouTube, we wanted viewers to build authentic relationships with our biggest brand asset: our Nerds. I pitched and led design for a YouTube series called “Awkward Money Questions,” which invites viewers into the comfortable corners of our Nerds’ homes to discuss the tough stuff. The scrappy, stop-motion-style visuals reflect the casual tone of these conversations and, while templated, each video is customizable using a library of topic-specific cutouts.
